SediaMedea was created in the post-war era, when form made its peace with function, and creativity boldly confronted technical constraints, spearheading a revolution.

When creativity started entering the workshops in Brianza, just outside Milan, architects worked alongside artisans and together they brought industrial design to life.
During these years, Medea set up Tagliabue Fratelli, a company specialised in cabinetmaking, and experimented with innovative techniques together with Vittorio Nobili.
Vittorio Nobili’s design led to the creation of a chair with a unique look.

Made of solids and voids, with no corners, it had a curved, enveloping shell, and a perfect anatomical inclination.
In 1956, the Compasso d’Oro jury gave the chair an Honourable Mention, in recognition of its aesthetic excellence.
